The United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) is the strategic programme framework for the UN Country Team (UNCT). It describes the collective response of the UNCT to the priorities in the national development framework.  

In Turkmenistan, the UNDAF is guided by national priorities outlined in the nationalized MDG targets, the Strategy of Socio-economic Development for the Period Up to 2010, the Strategy of Economic, Political and Cultural Development of Turkmenistan for the Period of Up to 2020 and other strategic development programmes.  

The UNDAF translates the key dimensions of these documents into a common operational framework for development activities upon which the individual United Nations Agencies, Funds and Programmes formulate their actions during the given period. Their expected programme or project activities and budget contributions should be linked, as far as possible, to the UNDAF results and resources framework.
